Dental Veneers
Veneers are cosmetically used to improve the appearance of your existing teeth and are a great option to consider if your teeth are either stained, chipped or not aligned since they look like natural teeth and does not involve a major procedure.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are very thin laminates of porcelain which are bonded on top of your prepared tooth/teeth. The shade of the veneer is matched to your surrounding teeth so that the veneers blend in and look like your natural teeth. The shape can also be adjusted to make your teeth look longer, closer together or even close small gaps when braces are not suitable. Veneers can either be done on just one tooth or a set of teeth (smile makeover).
Our dentists at Belmont Dental Care will usually advise a wax up study model before preparing your tooth/teeth for veneers which involves making a cast of your teeth and wax veneers are placed on the proposed tooth/teeth. This will enable you to see how the end result will appear so that any changes to the shade or shape can be made before proceeding.

At the preparation appointment, your dentist will remove a thin layer off the top surface of the tooth/teeth, take impressions and place a temporary veneer on the prepared surface. The impressions will then be sent to our laboratory to make the veneers based upon the bespoke design and prescription from the dentist which usually takes around 2 weeks. The veneer/s is then placed on your tooth/teeth before bonding to ensure you are happy with the result.

A follow-up appointment may sometimes be required after having the veneers bonded to check your bite and review the function and aesthetics.
